Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

Overview

SignalVault is a web content knowledge manager that lets you save, search, and organize content from across the web. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

What Data We Collect

  • Account information: Your email address and authentication credentials when you create an account.
  • Saved content: URLs, page titles, and extracted text content from web pages you choose to save. We only save content you explicitly request.
  • User-generated metadata: Tags, collections, notes, and highlights you create to organize your saved content.
  • Browser extension data: When using the SignalVault browser extension, we process the URL and page content of pages you actively choose to save. The extension does not track your browsing history or collect data from pages you do not save.

How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security (RLS) policies. By default, your data is only accessible to you — other users cannot view or modify your saved content unless you explicitly choose to share it. All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS.

Who Has Access

By default, only you can access your saved content. If you use sharing features (see "Sharing" below), the people or groups you share with will also be able to view that content. SignalVault administrators may access aggregated, anonymized usage statistics but do not access individual user content except when required for technical support that you initiate, or when required by law.

Sharing

SignalVault allows you to share saved content with others at your discretion. When you share content:

  • You control what is shared and with whom. Shared content may be accessible via a link or to specific users you designate.
  • Shared content may be visible to anyone who has the link, depending on your sharing settings. Treat share links like passwords — anyone with the link can view the shared content.
  • You can revoke sharing at any time, after which the content will no longer be accessible to others.
  • SignalVault does not share your content on your behalf. All sharing is initiated by you.

Aggregate & Trending Data

SignalVault may compile and display anonymized, aggregate information about content saved across the platform — for example, lists of the most frequently saved articles or trending topics. This data:

  • Is derived from usage patterns across many users and does not identify individual users or reveal any individual's saved content.
  • Includes only metadata such as URLs and page titles — not your personal notes, tags, or highlights.
  • May be displayed publicly on the SignalVault platform or shared with third parties in aggregate form.
  • You may opt out of having your saves included in aggregate data from your account settings. Opting out will not affect your ability to use SignalVault.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual saved items at any time. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

SignalVault uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • Postmark — transactional email delivery
